Some important info to know if you have a dachshund.

 

Our founder, Linda Stowe, answers some questions regarding the recommended therapies during a disc herniation:<br /><br /><br /> Our yahoo group has been in existence for over 10 years and during that time we saw dogs lose more neuro function after a chiro adjustment. So we wrote to a boarded neuro and asked what they saw and their thoughts. In response to our question Dr. Isaacs wrote the following article for us http://www.dodgerslist.com/literature/chiropractic.htm<br /><br /><br /> This is why we do not recommend chiro on a dog with clinical signs of IVDD. We do recommend acupuncture and laser therapy regularly for dogs on conservative treatment or dogs who have had surgery. We see far more dogs on our yahoo group who are doing conservative then those who have surgery mainly because of the expense. Yes, we do agree there are more options then surgery and if you look further down on our page, you will see where we referred to our article on conservative care.
